What are the special requirements for installing tactile paving tiles?

1. Base Preparation
Before laying tactile paving tiles, the base must be prepared. The base should be flat, firm, and dry, and free of surface debris such as oil, dust, and other debris. This is essential for ensuring the quality and longevity of the tactile paving tiles.

2. Laying Method
Tactile paving tiles can be laid using either the spot-bonding or strip-bonding method. The spot-bonding method involves applying a 10mm thick layer of 107 glue-cement mortar to the back of the tactile paving tile and then attaching it to the base. The strip-bonding method also involves applying a 10mm thick layer of 107 glue-cement mortar to the back of the tactile paving tile, but requires the tiles to be bonded together with adjacent tiles. During laying, the tiles should be placed in their intended locations, maintaining a flat and vertical position. If the position of a tile needs to be adjusted, gently tap the surface with a rubber mallet to align it flush with the adjacent tiles.

III. Laying Order and Requirements
Order: Tactile paving bricks should be laid in the order of main roads first, then side roads, to ensure overall continuity and consistency.
Special Requirements:
When paving sidewalks, if they encounter buildings, guide bricks should be placed between them to guide blind people. Stop bricks should also be laid before intersections, and the paving width should not be less than 0.60m.

When paving crosswalks, a tactile brick should be laid 0.30m from the curb, or a stop brick should be laid every other sidewalk brick. Guide bricks and stop bricks should be laid perpendicularly, and the laying width should not be less than 0.60m.

When laying bus stops, guide bricks should also be laid 0.30m from the curb, or every other sidewalk brick. Temporary bus stops also require stop bricks, which should also be laid perpendicularly, and the laying width should not be less than 0.60m.

The green belt on the sidewalk should be at least 0.10m higher than the sidewalk, and guide bricks should be laid at the intersections of the green belt to ensure smooth passage for blind people.

IV. Paving Quality Inspection
During the laying process, the flatness and gaps of the brick surface should be checked with a ruler at all times to ensure quality. After laying, the brick surface should be rinsed with pressurized water to maintain a clean and aesthetically pleasing appearance. Inspections should also be conducted to ensure the brick surface is flat, free of debris, and free of damage.

V. Post-Inspection and Maintenance
After the tactile paving bricks are laid, post-inspection and maintenance are required. This includes regular cleaning of the surface and inspection and repair of damaged bricks. These measures can extend the lifespan of the bricks and maintain their optimal performance.

In summary, the installation of tactile paving bricks imposes strict and specific requirements designed to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the tiles, thereby ensuring the safety of blind people.
